Chinook Fishing Derby planning is well underway with several meetings having taken place and the letters to sponsors have been sent. At the December monthly meeting the majority of the members present voted in favour of holding a fishing derby in 2009. Volunteers able to assist are requested to contact President Mel Hull Tel. 250 642-5548 email melanjudy@shaw.ca.
At the General meeting this week, the decision was made by the members present to hold a Derby this year, partly monetary, yes, but also to keep us in the public eye, as the Derby has been so effective at doing. We now need a few volunteers to form a Derby Committee and get the ball rolling. Anyone who might be up for the work is asked to respond to me by e-mail and I'll set up a meeting to start the process. Mel Hull.
